Stronger Bonds. Smarter Training. Happier Lives.
At Right Way K9 Training, our mission is simple: to create stronger, more joyful connections between dogs and their humans. We do that by focusing not just on obedience, but on education—empowering owners with the skills, insight, and confidence to lead their dogs through real-world challenges. We see ourselves as an educational institution first and a training company second, because true, lasting results happen when you understand the why behind your dog’s behavior. Every training plan is personalized to your dog’s needs and your lifestyle—never one-size-fits-all.
But our support doesn’t end after the initial program. We offer client-exclusive services like enrichment daycare, overnight boarding, and ongoing coaching opportunities to help you maintain progress, deepen the bond with your dog, and navigate new challenges as they arise. To us, success means more than a well-behaved dog—it means a confident, mentally healthy companion who thrives in everyday life, and an owner who feels equipped every step of the way.

Our mission is to create stronger, more joyful connections between dogs and their humans.

Frequently Asked Questions

Start by completing our intake form. Once we’ve reviewed it, we’ll give you a call for a free consultation to discuss your goals, explore training options, and answer any questions.
-
We offer private lessons and board & train programs tailored to early puppy development, behavior modification, and obedience at all levels. Our training addresses everything from leash pulling and jumping to fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, and more.
-
It depends on your lifestyle and goals.
Private lessons are best for owners who are consistent, hands-on, and have time to train daily. You'll be actively involved from day one.
Board & train is a full-immersion option—your dog stays with us, allowing for faster progress and more detailed work. It’s ideal for busy families, frequent travelers, or owners who struggle with consistency.
Both options can address most behavioral issues, but more serious concerns—like aggression—are often better suited for board & train.
Still unsure? Fill out our intake form and we’ll help you choose the right path.

Each day follows a structured routine tailored to your dog’s training goals. Mornings begin with a potty break and breakfast, followed by a 30–45 minute structured walk. Training sessions are spread throughout the day—totaling around four hours—and focus on obedience, behavior modification, socialization, and duration work.
In the evening, your dog enjoys dinner around 5 PM, another walk, and any final training or enrichment before settling in for the night. It’s a full day of structure, learning, and fulfillment.
-
While your dog is with us, we focus our time on hands-on training rather than producing polished videos—but we still make sure you’re in the loop. Trainers post brief Instagram story updates a few times a week, showing your dog working on skills, going for walks, or socializing with other dogs. Since stories expire after 24 hours, be sure to check in regularly. You're also welcome to call or email us anytime for a progress update, to ask questions, or to request a quick photo of your pup.

Right Way K9 Training uses balanced training methods to teach dogs clear distinctions between right and wrong while promoting new behaviors that support mental well-being, foster a happy and harmonious relationship, and ensure success in the real world. Our strategies are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual dog and owner. We incorporate food, play, praise, and affection to reinforce desirable behaviors, alongside fair consequences for dangerous actions or selective listening. Whether your dog struggles with behavioral challenges like fear, aggression, anxiety, or impulsivity, or is a puppy or rescue learning basic skills, our training is universal to all dogs and breeds.
-
Yes—positive reinforcement is a foundational part of how we train. But we don’t limit ourselves to positive-only methods, because doing so often falls short—especially when addressing more serious behaviors like reactivity, anxiety, or aggression.
We take a balanced approach, using a variety of tools and techniques to create clear communication, reliable results, and lasting change—always tailored to the dog in front of us.

We use a variety of training tools to meet the unique needs of each dog. These may include Starmark collars, prong collars, martingales, slip leads, flexi-leads, e-collars, place cots, crates, treats, and toys.
By mastering a wide range of tools, we’re able to help dogs of all temperaments and avoid turning away cases that others might consider too challenging. Every tool is used thoughtfully, humanely, and with your dog’s well-being in mind.
There are many misconceptions—especially about prong and e-collars—which is why we encourage you to visit our Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok pages to see how we use these tools with clarity, kindness, and effectiveness.

At Right Way K9 Training, we’re more than dog trainers—we’re educators. We believe real, lasting change happens when you, the owner, understand how and why the training works. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to confidently lead your dog without constant professional intervention.
We also reject one-size-fits-all training. Every dog and owner is unique, so we create customized training plans that align with your goals, your lifestyle, and your dog’s individual personality and behavior.
Most importantly, we define success differently. It’s not just about obedience—it’s about a dog who is mentally healthy, confident, and able to thrive in real-world environments, no matter how distracting or chaotic.
-
Absolutely! It’s never too late to help senior dogs learn healthier habits and establish clearer communication, reducing stress for both the dog and the owner.
-
Puppies can begin training as early as 8 weeks old. At this stage, we focus on positive reinforcement, confidence building, healthy socialization, and short, engaging sessions that make learning fun. Early training lays the foundation for better behavior, stronger communication, and a more confident, well-adjusted dog.
-
Yes, absolutely! We specialize in early puppy development and can guide you step-by-step through successful potty training. A fully potty-trained dog comes from a clear routine, the right timing, and a consistent owner.
We’ll help you understand the process, establish a schedule that sets your dog up for success, and troubleshoot any accidents along the way.
-
Yes—we specialize in working with dogs that display aggressive behavior, including those with a history or risk of biting. We have a proven track record of helping both dogs and owners overcome serious behavioral challenges.
To ensure everyone’s safety, we follow strict handling protocols when working with aggressive dogs. In some cases, we may ask owners to safely muzzle their dog during sessions as an added precaution. Our top priority is creating a safe, structured environment while addressing the root of the aggression in a thoughtful, effective way.
-
We offer group classes occasionally, but only for existing clients who’ve completed a training program. We don’t recommend them for new clients seeking real behavior change. New skills should be introduced in a calm, focused environment—not one filled with distractions. Group settings can often lead to overstimulation and teach dogs to tune out their owners. That’s why we start with individualized training and build up to real-world distractions the right way.
-
No—our dog daycare and overnight boarding services are exclusively available to current or former training clients. This policy allows us to maintain a safe, structured, and enriching environment, with dogs who are already familiar with our training methods and expectations. It also ensures your dog continues building on the skills they’ve learned with us.
-
A dog's success at home depends on many factors, including the owner's commitment, consistency, and follow-through, which makes providing a 100% guarantee difficult. However, we are fully dedicated to supporting each client throughout the training process and after to help them reach their goals. With an owner's commitment to the work, we’ve seen every dog make significant progress and achieve their training objectives.
-
Absolutely! You can read our 5-star reviews on Google and view our A rating with the Better Business Bureau. But don’t just take our word—or our clients’—for it.
Visit our Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube pages to see real training sessions in action. Watching how we work with dogs is the best way to understand our approach—because in dog training, seeing truly is believing.
-
We don’t offer payment plans, but we do accept all major credit cards. Full payment is required upfront so we can dedicate the time, structure, and consistency your dog needs for lasting success.
While it may be tempting to stop once you see early progress, true behavior change takes time. Addressing only the symptoms without working through the root causes often leads to setbacks. Our programs are designed to create lasting results—not quick fixes.
-
We do not offer discounts for training multiple dogs. Training more than one dog in the same household involves significantly more time and effort—not only teaching each dog individually, but also helping them work together as a well-behaved unit. It’s a more complex process, and our goal is to ensure each dog gets the attention and structure they need to succeed.
-
We train dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages—from Chihuahuas to Great Danes, puppies to seniors. Every dog deserves the chance to learn, grow, and live a more fulfilling, harmonious life with their owners. No matter the background or behavior, we’re here to help.
